Merrick, NY—The deadline to enter the 2017 Centurion Emerging Designer Competition is midnight EDT tonight. Three lucky winners will receive a showcase and exhibit space at the Centurion Scottsdale 2017 show, scheduled for January 28 - February 1, 2016.

The competition, sponsored again this year by Stuller, is open to any jewelry designer who has never before exhibited in a U.S. fine jewelry trade show. The competition is open to all designers, regardless of experience, formal training, or background in jewelry design, but entrants must show lines or one-of-a-kind designs that are suitable for a luxury jewelry store environment, and their company must be capable of both exhibiting at a trade show and fulfilling any wholesale orders received at the show.

“The Centurion Emerging Design Competition is an excellent opportunity for up-and-coming and international designers to break into the U.S. luxury fine jewelry market, by getting their line in front of the most premiere audience of carefully selected prestige jewelers,” said Howard Hauben, president of Centurion. “For retail jewelers, the Centurion Emerging Design winners offer an opportunity to discover new talent to set your store apart,” he added.

“We are honored to have the opportunity to sponsor the Emerging Designer Competition,” says Stuller executive director of marketing and public relations, Ashley Brown.  “The discovery of untapped talent is essential to the jewelry industry. And their work offers a fresh perspective on luxury design that’s both exciting and inspired.”

"As a 2016 Centurion Emerging Designer winner I forged friendships and relationships in the jewelry industry that will undoubtedly last for many years,” said Rachael Clark of RachaelsArc, one of the 2016 winners. “It was a pivotal moment in my business as I learned to manage both the creative and the sales portion of the industry. I am truly grateful to Centurion for providing this opportunity."

Doryn Wallach, another winner of the 2016 competition, added, “Debuting my collection at Centurion in my first six months of business was an unbelievable honor. Centurion did a wonderful job honoring the Emerging Designers and putting us in a prime position that brought attention to our cases. I had the opportunity to engage with and receive tremendous professional guidance from some of the most well respected people in the industry. I made many contacts with retailers that recognized me at later trade shows.  I will always be grateful to Howard and Hedda and enjoyed every moment of being in Arizona!”

"It is truly an honor to have been selected as one of the three Emerging Designers of 2016 and being amongst the biggest designers and names in this industry. It has been less than a year since I launched Ayva jewelry, so this show was very exciting for us as it gave us the exposure to important jewelry stores and the jewelry community at large. This recognition has now given me the tools to continue to work hard and expand creatively in my love for designing jewelry," said Priyanka Kedia of Ayva Jewelry, the third winner in 2016.

Deadline for entry is September 15, 2016. Entrants are required to submit up to three images of finished jewelry; no renderings or CAD drawings will be accepted. Images must be .jpg format, and each image must include a detailed description of the piece: what it is, metals, gemstones, etc.

Entries will be judged by a special judging panel to narrow down to the finalists, who then will be voted on by Centurion’s Board of Retail Advisors. For more information and to access the entry form, click here or cut and paste the link below:
