Leo Schachter Launches Corporate Video

New York, NY—Leo Schachter introduces a new video it created to help retailers and their sales staffs better understand the brand. The video emphasizes the brand’s innovation, use of technology, and global reach. Shot onsite in Leo Schachter’s New York City offices, the film shows how the brand has evolved from just supplying diamonds to conducting market research and developing product to reach a variety of different consumer demographics. The video also highlights the firm’s commitment to longevity, and shows time-lapse photography of its move to the glamorous new Gem Tower in New York City’s diamond district.

Leo Schachter representatives use the video to help train retail salespeople at the store level, and to communicate with retail buyers at trade shows and private meetings.

Rick Shultz, Cortland Shopper Join Uneek Team

Los Angeles, CA - Benjamin Javaheri, president and CEO of Uneek Jewelry announced Wednesday that Rick Shultz and Cortland Shopper, both respected industry veterans, have joined the company to further develop its growing family of regional and national accounts. Both will hold the title of regional vice president of sales; Shultz in the northern Midwest and Cortland in the western United States.

Rick Shultz

Shultz has devoted over 30 years of his professional career to the fine jewelry industry, helping jewelers across the country develop and grow their businesses through channels of differentiation, quality, and customer experience. His experience as a certified gemologist and sales professional has allowed him to provide jewelers/retailers with an element of differentiating values and committed personal service.

Cortland Shopper

Shopper, also a certified gemologist, comes with a wealth of experience in many areas of the jewelry industry and, as Javaheri says, has developed a "Uneek" insight on achieving success with independent retailers. He began his career as a bench jeweler setting diamonds, spent years providing support in customer service, and eventually rose to become director of sales during a 12-year tenure with Gregg Ruth.

"My favorite part of the day is figuring out how to grow business at an individual store level,” he said. “Every store is unique, and the key to achieving success is to listen to each client's needs and create solutions together."

“I, too, am very excited to start a new journey with Uneek," added Shultz. "The company stands on a foundation of uncompromising quality and first-class service, especially reflected in their in-house customization."

Javaheri said, “I am so thrilled to have Cortland and Rick join the Uneek team. Their combined wealth of experience and industry expertise will enhance our ability to deliver growth for Uneek and our family of retail partners.”

Shultz can be reached directly at (913) 707-0542, and Shopper at (310) 422-7852. Both will be at the Uneek salon (# 311) at the upcoming Centurion Jewelry Show in Scottsdale.

Rocket Moves To Westchester After 70 Years In The Bronx

Elmsford, NY—Rocket, a longtime supplier of packaging and display materials for the retail fine jewelry market, is moving to 375 Executive Boulevard in Elmsford, NY, to a new and expanded business facility. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held January 12 at 2 p.m., with owner and CEO Michael Kaplan joined by Elmsford town officials.

With offices in California and China as well as New York, Rocket’s Kaplan is confident the new facility will offer their retailers and wholesale jewelry clients an even more efficient and expanded buying experience.

"The New York team is really excited about this move," says Kaplan, "and the timing couldn't be better. Our increased operations in China calls for additional support, so the move to our new location coincides perfectly by providing the space to grow our sales and support staff by about 20%."

The new facility allows for updated operating procedures and high tech based logistics to offer expedited turnaround time for customers, especially important during peak periods. The location also offers an easier commute for many of the firm’s employees.

The move also coincides with Rocket’s 100th anniversary in April 2017.
