Update: Furrer-Jacot’s Golf Championship Ring

Columbus, OH—Swiss jeweler Furrer Jacot teamed up with the Xempt Players Series to provide a ring for the winner of the National XPS Series for non-pro golfers, held last month here. In the August 31 edition of The Centurion, it was reported that Bo Hoag, who won by six shots, received a custom-made palladium and diamond ring by Furrer Jacot. At presstime a photo of the exact ring was not available; The Centurion subsequently has obtained a photo and the exact ring is now shown at left.

Military Couple to Win $40,000 Ring

Atlanta, GA—Online retailer Union Diamond has announced it will award a $40,000 platinum and diamond ring to one lucky member of the United States Armed Forces. Through a competition titled “My Perfect Union,” couples may enter themselves or be nominated by friends or family members with a video and/or essay submission to www.myperfectunion.com.

“When I immigrated to the United States of America more than 20 years ago, I had no idea what challenges and opportunities were in store for me. This great country has given me so much and I can't think of a better way to give back than to make this announcement,” said Scott Anderson, president and CEO of Union Diamond. 

The website will start accepting submissions today, and the winner will be announced December 6, 2011. The winner will receive a designer engagement setting in platinum, with a D-internally flawless diamond, valued at $40,000. The winning serviceman or servicewoman will receive the ring personally by Anderson.

“For me, it is the perfect way to show my appreciation to the men and women who protect us. I want to hand this platinum ring to them, look them in the eyes and tell them ‘thank you’ for all that they’ve done” said Anderson, who ironically launched the website UnionDiamond.com on September 11, 2001.

Rapaport Goes Mobile

Rahaminov Diamonds Supports Komen Foundation

Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) is an annual international health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities to increase awareness of the disease and raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and cure. The campaign also offers information and support to those affected by breast cancer, and is a prime opportunity to remind women to be breast aware for earlier detection. Susan G. Komen for the Cure is a global leader of the breast cancer movement, having invested more than $1.9 billion since inception in 1982.

To be eligible for the Rahaminov contribution, items must be invoiced during October 2011. Contribution will be made upon receipt of full payment for eligible items. No returns or exchanges.

Pandora Registers Trademark in China

Copenhagen, Denmark—Pandora announced Monday that it has registered the Latin letter version of the Pandora trademark in China, under international trademark class 14, which covers jewelry and watches. The company already holds the trademark for its name in Chinese characters and the patent rights for its charm bracelet. The latest move is intended to strengthen its intellectual property protection there.

Celebrity Spotting: Anna Kendrick in Kwiat, Sharon Osbourne, More

New York, NY—Anna Kendrick chose jewelry by Kwiat for the premiere of “50/50” on September 26. She wore platinum and diamond drop earrings and a three line diamond bracelet set in platinum. Archie Panjabi selected platinum and diamond jewelry (cluster earrings, ring, chain necklace) by Chopard for the opening night of the Metropolitan Opera season, also on September 26.

Finally, Sharon Osborne, one of the three judges of “America’s got Talent,” chose pieces from the Luxury Collection of Joshua J Fine Jewelry to wear for the special Finale night September 13. She wore a pair of handmade chandelier “Water Fall” earrings weighing 12.76 cts. t.w. for the pair. The earrings featured 28 marquise-cut diamonds and 494 micro-set round diamonds.

SES Creations Inc. is Newest Forevermark Partner

New York, NY—Forevermark, the diamond brand from the De Beers group of companies, announces a new design manufacturing partnership with SES Creations Inc., which will develop a specific design collection to showcase Forevermark diamonds in platinum. The collection of 10 to 13 pieces will feature a variety of bridal and fashion jewelry, all set in platinum. Platinum Guild International will provide a support package to the partnership, which will include sales associate education, in-store signage, and a customized video presentation identifying their store locations as a “Platinum Destination.”

"I am very excited about this new partnership with Forevermark and its well-respected authorized retailers. We are confident this campaign will be a lasting and successful addition to the high end jewelry business" says SES Creations president Shlomo Elias.

Separately, British designer Stephen Webster is launching a new collection of engagement and wedding rings set with Forevermark diamonds crafted by Dali Diamond. The collection draws upon iconic Webster design features and is set in 18k yellow, white, and rose gold. The collection marks two firsts: one, Webster’s first foray into bridal jewelry, and two, the first important Forevermark jewelry collection in Europe. It will be available exclusively at Webster’s retail shop in London.
