$80,000 Audemars Piguet Watch Stolen From Augusta Jewelry Store January 10, 2024 (0 comments)
Augusta, GA--A man stole an $80,000 Audemars Piguet in a classic grab-and-run theft.
The theft happened at SB Jewelers & Custom Design store on Sunday afternoon, The Augusta Press reports. The thief asked to see the watch, which was covered in diamonds. When it was on his wrist he ran out of the store.
The thief--described by the newspaper as a Black male wearing a tan or white mesh hat, a brown t-shirt with a white banner on it, blue jeans with the legs rolled up and tan or brown shoes--is clearly seen in surveillance camera footage.
Recently, the Jewelers’ Security Alliance said that these kind of grab-and-run theft are prevalent nationwide.
