London, United Kingdom—At only 28 years old, Hollie Bonneville Barden is the head designer for De Beers Jewellery, the retail joint venture between the venerable diamond miner and luxury conglomerate LVMH.

A newly-minted graduate of London’s prestigious Central Saint Martins College of Art And Design (some other famous alumni include the likes of Stella McCartney, Marc Jacobs, Alexander McQueen,  and Pierce Brosnan), Barden was tapped by De Beers to do some freelance illustrations shortly after her graduation. One thing led to another, and now the 28-year-old holds the title of head designer for De Beers Jewellery.

Fashionista.com recently did a lengthy interview with Barden, outlining everything from her early childhood love of jewelry through her education and rise up the De Beers ladder. Of note: the importance of maintaining relationships in the jewelry industry. She was recommended to De Beers by one of her school professors.
