AGTA Says Colored Gems and Natural Pearls Are Duty-Free September 25, 2025 (1 comment)
Dallas, TX--The American Gem Trade Association said Thursday that loose colored gemstones and natural pearls have been granted duty-free import status under the US-EU Trade Agreement. This status applies retroactively to imports made on or after September 1.
“AGTA extends its gratitude to the United States Trade Representative, as well as the Departments of Commerce and Treasury, for their commitment and efforts in achieving this outcome,” AGTA said in an email to its members. “They have all been extremely receptive and proactive in working with us from the start.”
We continue to seek resolution with other trading partners regarding our imports.
