The platinum Patek Philippe, set with 90 single-cut diamonds in an Art Deco style, was sold for $92,500 USD (approximately $142,000 AUD). As per the report, the watch was purchased by UK-based retailer Berry’s Jewellers.

Managing director Simon Walton described the piece as historically significant, stating that he believed it would be a strong visual addition to the Leeds boutique and help draw attention to the launch of the first Patek Philippe boutique outside London. He also noted that the watch represented a fascinating chapter in the brand’s history. The watch had previously been held by Capone’s family and was first sold at auction in 2015 in Sacramento for $229,000 USD.

The June 10 Sotheby’s sale also featured a headline-grabbing piece: a Patek Philippe perpetual calendar chronograph, Ref. 2499 in pink gold. According to the report, the timepiece—manufactured in 1957—is considered unique, being one of only nine second series models of this reference cased in pink gold. The watch was sold to a private collector for $4.3 million.
