ANYONE CARE TO DRINK A DIAMOND INSTEAD OF WEARING IT? May 02, 2012 (0 comments)
London, United Kingdom—Distiller and Royal Warrant holder John Walker & Sons has produced a limited edition of 60 Diamond Jubilee whiskey bottles to commemorate the 60th year of the reign of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II.
The diamond-shaped bottles are made of Baccarat crystal (not so English!) with six radial legs of Brittania silver representing each decade of the Queen’s reign, and a half-carat diamond on the bottle’s collar along with the Royal Arms and a John Walker & Sons monogram.
Luxury Daily reports the Scottish brand is sending one of the bottles on tour to both heighten brand visibility and strengthen its status as a luxury whiskey, which, at the equivalent of $162,380 per bottle, would be tough to argue otherwise.
