At 101, New Jersey Jeweler Still Works Six Days a Week and Shares Her Secret to a Long, Fulfilling Life October 22, 2025 (0 comments)
Cresskill, NJ--At 101, Ann Angeletti still manages her jewelry shop in Cresskill, six days a week, with her daughter and granddaughter. According to a report by ABC 7, she's been working steadily since the 1940s and has no plans to stop.

Angeletti grew up in Brooklyn, where she left school early to help at her family's grocery store. Her father delivered ice in a horse-drawn cart before home refrigeration existed, the report noted. After her husband left to fight in World War II, she worked at the Navy Yard and later as a waitress.
Her jewelry business began in 1964, when she rented a store for $85 a month. "I was driving by, the store was for rent and I called the owner and asked him, how much is the rent," she said. "He said $85 a month in 1964." She opened Curiosity Jewelry soon after and has run it ever since.
"I've been working since my husband went to war. If I retire, I would die," she told ABC 7.
Her advice for a long and steady life is simple: "You must get up, you must shower, you must eat, you must take care of yourself. You must exercise," she said. "If you don’t like what you’re doing, then change."
