Alex Soldier Honors Julie Andrews at Princess Grace Foundation Gala
New York—The late Princess Grace of Monaco sought to recognize and celebrate artistic innovation throughout her life. Likewise, the Princess Grace Foundation-USA honors art at the vanguard of excellence.
In that spirit of innovation, the PGF-USA commissioned jewelry designer Alex Soldier to create a unique work of art to commemorate the Princess Grace and Prince Rainier III Awards. This year’s awards were presented at a gala on November 1, in the presence of Their Serene Highnesses The Prince and The Princess of Monaco.
The Prince Rainier III Award was presented to Julie Andrews, in recognition of her outstanding career and philanthropic endeavors. In addition to her distinguished professional accomplishments, Andrews has dedicated her life to serving important causes around the world. The 13-inch statue commemorating the Prince Rainier III Award incorporates symbols representing all three disciplines that were close to Princess Grace’s heart and lauded by the Foundation: theater, dance, and film.

Soldier also designed the Princess Grace Award, given to each of the 21 emerging artists recognized at the gala. A miniature version of the Prince Rainier III Award, it also serves as wearable art. Each piece is made for the recipients to wear as a pin, a special reminder of the award for the world to see.

LKI Update: Winner of Carlotta Ring Proposes Exactly As Planned (Well, Almost)
Dallas, TX--John Sarver, grand prize winner of The Lazare Diamond Ring Giveaway, is an engaged man. His winning entry described what he felt was the perfect proposal: to buy his bride a house, fill it with mementos of all their time together, and pop the question at the end of the tour. If he won the ring, he said, he'd have the money to buy the house. Well, he wasn't quite able to buy the house as planned, he did a good job modeling the idea anyway.
Here's what he wrote to describe last weekend's proposal to girlfriend Jessica Pavey: “I went antiquing and bought all these old window panes, washboards, picture frames, coke boxes, etc. Then I decorated them using the things I've saved in our relationship (any note she's ever written me, ticket stubs, musical programs, etc.) with pictures as well and walked through the progression of our relationship until the end when I proposed.”
She said yes.
Congratulations and best wishes to the happy couple, John Sarver and Jessica Pavey, on their engagement.
