New York, NY--Lazare Kaplan International Inc. (LKI), announced the expansion of its widely successful diamond app, The Lazare Diamond 4C’s, to the Android platform. Currently available for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, this latest version includes all the original features and offers Android users the same benefits and experience.

“The diamond accounts for a large portion of the value of a diamond ring,” said Maurice Tempelsman, LKI chairman. “By understanding how diamonds are color-graded and how certain cuts affect its brilliance, sparkle and fire, consumers will make better informed purchases.”

Free to download in the Android Market, The Lazare Diamond 4C’s app provides users with an interactive and educational guide to purchasing the ideal diamond. The app is designed as a user-friendly tool for retailers, suppliers and consumers to help them better understand and realize the value and importance of the key characteristics of diamonds: Cut, Color, Clarity and Carat Weight.

The app is a hands-on tutorial, using interactive screens, videos and side-by-side comparisons. It’s easy-to-use, with simple language and illustrations, making this the ideal diamond guide. The Lazare Diamond 4C’s includes a geographic locator that lets users identify the closest Lazare Diamond retailer.

Separately, LKI has partnered with ESDN to develop and roll out its extensive on-line catalog to its retail partners. It will allow the retailers to showcase more Lazare Diamond inventory and jewelry than they otherwise would have in their stores, driving traffic and increasing brand recognition, says Marcee Feinberg, LKI vice president of marketing.

“With ESDN, LKI retailers can now automatically receive product updates and availability in real-time," says Steve Yeko, ESDN President and CEO. "Retailers can be online, displaying the LKI catalog on their sites in minutes."
