Separately, both Oscar Heyman and Suna Bros. in New York City have closed their workshops until further notice during the coronavirus situation.
At press time, however, New York-based GCAL and Gemprint are open. Below is the partial text of a note sent to clients:
Many of you have called to ask if GCAL and Gemprint will be open. We intend to do all we can for as long as we're permitted to remain open, and fully operational. That means the GCAL lab will be open Monday thru Friday, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. And we're taking every possible precaution to stay safe and stay healthy.
We expect to get orders already in-house delivered as per your promised date. And we hope and expect to get all new orders out the door within our usual turnaround times. If you have questions, or have work that needs special attention, we only ask that you call us first.
We are sending our very best wishes for a speedy recovery to our friends who have loved ones, or are themselves experiencing health issues from this spreading virus, as well as disruptions to their businesses and daily lives. We are living through an unprecedented event, and while nobody has all the answers, we need to do all we can to protect and support each other through these troubling times.
