Bridal Designer MaeVona Named A Finalist in UK Awards

Englewood, NJ--MaeVona has been announced as a Finalist for “Bridal Collection Of The Year” at the Retail Jeweller UK Watch & Jewellery Awards 2014.

The prestigious annual awards honoring designers, retailers, and manufacturers in the United Kingdom whose products or services are most in demand, leading the market with excellence, innovation and quality. The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on 2 July.

Although the majority of MaeVona’s customer base is in North America, her Celtic-inspired bridal designs are in high demand in the UK. Daniel Henderson Jewellers in the designer’s native Scotland reports MaeVona customers coming from all across Europe to his Edinburgh store.

“With absolute certainty no other engagement ring collection has brought out as many “ooohs” and “aaahhs” as MaeVona. What we find our customers truly love about Maeve’s designs are the soft flowing curves, the intricate details, the subtle references to the Celtic inspiration, but mostly their uniqueness.  MaeVona’s beautiful designs are unlike anything we have come across. We have made deliveries across the UK and Europe, and as far afield as Shanghai. We even had a couple fly in from Geneva especially to view the collection.”

MaeVona experienced high UK demand in 2013 due to social media and extensive online advertising, and is exhibiting at IJL London in August to build a network of authorized UK MaeVona retailers in key locations.

Geneva, Switzerland—Alpina has partnered with AllTrails.com, the leading site for mountain climbing and hiking enthusiasts, in a series of two-month long contests from now through October in which three winner will receive an Alpiner watch, the new Alpina model dedicated to Alpine sports. The grand prize winner will receive a trip to the base camp of Mount Everst, the tallest mountain in the world.

Three million Alltrails.com members—or anyone who downloads the AllTrails mobile app—can enter. Based on a virtual climb of four legendary summits through playing on the dedicated app, contestants will calculate their cumulative elevation achieved during this period—but they can’t do it from the couch. It will be accomplished while practicing their favorite outdoor sports: running, walking, and mountain climbing.

Each contest will recognize a legendary summit:

The height of each summit serves as the minimum elevation goal to be reached by the participants for each contest. Out of those who reach the minimum target elevation, Alpina and Alltrails will randomly draw one winner per contest who will win a trip to visit the legendary summit for which he or she has competed. The three participants who reach the greatest cumulative elevations in the first three contests will each win an Alpiner watch.

Reena Ahluwalia Launches World's First Lab-Grown Diamond Designer Jewelry Brand

Toronto, Ontario, Canada--Multi-award winning jewelry designer Reena Ahluwalia has launched the world's first lab-grown diamond designer jewelry brand. Called “Nurture By Reena.” the brand features fully disclosed, certified lab-grown diamonds that are origin-guaranteed, conflict-free, and environmentally sustainable.

The Moments Collection is offered in colorless, pink, and yellow lab-grown diamonds, with a starting carat weight of 0.40ct. It includes rings, pendants, earrings, and bracelets. 36 SKUs are available in 18k gold, including white, yellow and rose gold.

Says Ahluwalia, “I looked at blooming flowers for inspiration and symbolism. For me, flowers are like moments – ephemeral, yet deeply memorable. I am proud to bring a collection that celebrates the changing consumer values of today, embodies what real love means and helps you express your deepest personal stories. For retailers, this also offers phenomenal value and choices through layers of differentiation, which is essential to stand out in retail space today.”
