Las Vegas, NV—“Blueberry Tanzanite” has been named as Le Vian’s Gem of the Year at its recent Red Carpet Revue fashion and trend show in Las Vegas.

Held as it is every year on Sunday afternoon of the JCK Show at Mandalay Bay, this year’s edition was co-sponsored by Harpers’ Bazaar magazine, and featured, in addition to commentary from its executive fashion and beauty editor Avril Graham, a panel discussion with Graham, model Cheryl Tiegs, E! Television Live from the Red Carpet host Giuliana Rancic, and brand designer and CEO Eddie LeVian.

As in prior years, Le Vian also made a donation to Jewelers for Children on behalf of every guest who attended. This year’s donation increased to $180,000, he said.

The event theme for the annual fashion forecast was “Fabulous at Every Age,” celebrating every woman who loves jewelry and fashion.

“We strive to be the brand that makes anyone look fabulous at any age”, said LeVian in an address to the standing-room-only audience. “For the first time, our fashion show models range in age from their twenties to their sixties, including America's first supermodel, Cheryl Tiegs, who looks fabulous at age 67,” he said.

When asked about what she loved most about Le Vian designs, Tiegs replied, “I’ve been in the fashion business forever, and what I love about Le Vian is that it goes with all the moods, all the styles. It really suits everybody’s style.”

In its 15th season, the event is also a venue for celebrating celebrity style. “I am fascinated by Hollywood stars who have mastered the art of beauty, fashion and jewelry to transform themselves from daytime denim into iconic red carpet divas. I wish to impart this knowledge to everyday women with our unique and trend setting jewels,” said LeVian.

“What I love about these designs is that they can be very traditional and classic, but also modern, cutting edge, sexy, and risqué. There are a lot of jewelers who pay people to wear their jewelry on the red carpet, and Le Vian does not need to do that. At every single red carpet, some celeb has your on, which is a real testament to how stylish this jewelry is,” Giuliana Rancic told LeVian.

The key design trends for 2015 that Le Vian identified include chevron and houndstooth patterns, floral lace, long links, plaid, equestrian style, and its renowned “gladiator” wrap styles.

Clockwise from above left: chevron trend, houndstooth trend, "saddle up" equestrian-style trend and caramel quartz trend.

The top color trends Le Vian identified include Santorini blue, spumoni (a mix of colors inspired by the Italian ice cream dessert) caramel quartz, vibrant orchid (in line with Pantone’s Color of the Year, Radiant Orchid), chocolate covered blackberry and blueberry, iridescence (shown top of page), and jewelry featuring peach morganite.

No sticky fingers here: Le Vian's take on the chocolate-covered blueberry trend.

Finally, the key bridal trend the brand identified is “Strawberry and Vanilla,” (i.e. pink gold with diamonds) and “Chocolate Drizzle,” (i.e. chocolate-color diamonds).

Omi Privé Receives First Ever Platinum Craftsmanship Award at JCK Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV--Omi Privé, a Los Angeles-based colored gemstone jewelry designer, has been awarded the first ever “Platinum Craftsmanship Award” in the fifth annual Platinum Innovation Awards at the JCK Show.

During the 2014 Innovation Awards Editor’s Day, held in May in New York City, Platinum Guild International created the “Platinum Craftsmanship Award.” The newly announced Craftsmanship Award is based on overall quality of workmanship, rather than the design of one particular piece. Competition organizers were impressed by the detail and high quality craftsmanship in Omi Privé's work.

Omi Privé submitted four platinum designs to the competition, including a 20.02-ct. oval sapphire and diamond ring, a three-stone sapphire and diamond ring, pear shape sapphire and diamond earrings, and a pair of earrings featuring a 13.60 ctw pair of top Colombian emeralds.  Pieces are shown here:

“We were excited and honored to accept the first Platinum Craftsmanship Award. We take great pride in creating platinum designs that showcase exquisite colored stones,” said Niveet Nagpal, designer and president of Omi Privé. “We appreciate and enjoy working with platinum’s density and strength. This makes each design ideal for long-term wear--perfect for Omi Privé collectors to pass their fine jewelry investments on to future generations.”

Omi Privé will exhibit in Salon 101 at the Luxury Privé show in New York City, July 27-29. For more information, and to view the complete collection, visit omiprive.com.
