Not Your Average Graffiti: Nanis’ Laura Bicego Inspired By Street Art

Bologna, Italy—The exhibition “Street Art – Banksy & Co. Art In The Urban Form” shows how art has affected the fabric of cities since the invention of the spray can to the stencils of Banksy and the huge works by artist Blu.

The exhibition made headlines thanks to Blu's protest against privatization and the denaturalization of “street” works, torn from the walls of rundown neighborhoods to end up in the halls of a museum. In protest, he covered all his works of the last 20 years with gray paint.

Laura Bicego, designer of NANIS, believes jewelry shouldn’t be removed from the connectedness of street art. She takes inspiration from every new creative invention and believes that jewels are pieces of art that, when worn, we admire as we pass on the street.
