Jewelers Participate in NY Museum Gala
New York, NY—Greg Kwiat, Heather Moore, and Ivanka Trump all helped to raise funds at the American Museum of Natural History’s annual Museum Dance, a marquee event for young New York socialites. "We've been involved with the Museum for a few years, chaired this event, and will be chairing next year's event," Kwiat told The Centurion. The firm was among several jewelers donating pieces for a silent auction held during the evening.
Saks Fifth Avenue was a retail sponsor: shoppers using their Saks card at its Manhattan location in February were able to designate the museum to receive 5% of purchases, and of course attendees were encouraged to purchase their “bright and bold” theme attire at Saks for the event.

A report in Women’s Wear Daily says sales of fine watches and jewelry picked up 18% in 2011 on top of a 23% increase in 2010, and a recent study by Bain & Co. identifies it as one of the fastest-growing luxury categories. Prices for the three lines featured in the article start at a modest $523 and go to approximately $15,000.
Fashion houses Gucci, Fendi, Hermes, Chanel, and Dior have offered watches for a long time; Chanel and Dior also have a fine jewelry tradition. Iconic American designer Ralph Lauren also now offers fine jewelry as well as watches.
