Jewelry Gets Serious At White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner
Washington, DC—No longer a stodgy affair for rumpled reporters, the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner has morphed into a glamorous event with fashion and fun on the menu for the evening and actresses and celebrities on the guest list along with journalists. Actress and talk show panelist Candace Cameron-Bure wore Hearts On Fire diamond earrings and necklace to the dinner.

Stars Sparkle at Met Gala
New York, NY—The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala is the top “see and be seen” event of the New York City social calendar, as central to fashion and glamour on the East Coast as the Oscars are to Hollywood. This year’s Gala kicked off the museum’s Spring 2016 exhibit, Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology, which explores how designers are reconciling the handmade and the machine-made in the creation of haute couture and avant-garde ready-to-wear. Made possible by Apple with additional support from Condé Nast, the exhibition opens May 5 and runs through August 14.
The Gala draws both socialites and celebrities—who are, of course, dressed to sell in gowns and jewelry from famous brands. Here’s who wore what:
Naomi Watts (below left) wore platinum jewelry by Fred Leighton: platinum and diamond pendant earrings, Art Deco platinum bangle bracelets with diamonds and sapphire, and 1930's platinum buckle ring with invisibly set sapphires and diamonds.
Kiwi singer Lorde (below right) wore Kwiat platinum and diamond bracelets on one hand and a plaster cast on the other.
Other celebrities wearing platinum spanned the worlds of fashion, film, and music. They included Kendall Jenner, Lupita Nyong’o, Elle Fanning, Kylie Jenner, Karlie Kloss, Madonna, Nicki Minaj, Kate Hudson, Jennifer Hudson, Michelle Williams, Emily Ratajkowski, Katie Holmes, Sienna Miller, and Caitriona Belle. Brands represented included Cartier, Tiffany & Co., Lorraine Schwartz, Neil Lane, Fred Leighton, and Kwiat.
Model and actress Dylan Penn (below top) wore a Le Vian Chocolate Deco Estate ring. Actress Zuri Hall (below center) wore Le Vian Chocolate Deco Estate diamond earrings, and actress Aja Naomi King (below bottom) wore Le Vian Blackberry and Vanilla diamond chandelier earrings.

Emma Roberts, Dakota Johnson, and Demi Lovato, below respectively, all wore Norman Silverman Diamonds for the evening. Roberts wore diamond stud earrings, bangles, and pavé band rings. Johnson wore cuff bracelets, and Lovato wore stud earrings, a band ring, and a cocktail ring.
