CIRCA Seeks To Build Purchasing Agent Program January 11, 2011 (0 comments)
New York, NY—CIRCA Jewels, the New York–based company that purchases estate jewelry and secondhand diamonds, has formalized a purchasing agent program begun last year.
As part of this new initiative, it seeks to add a select group of retail jewelers across the United States to represent the firm in markets where it currently has no branch office.
CIRCA has been working with retailers since the company's inception in 2001. The new program will not change the company's current policy of buying jewelry from retailers of any size across the nation. But purchasing agent partnerships in key cities will serve to expand the company's network of retail jewelers to source inventory and build brand equity.
Retailers such as Underwood Jewelers in Jacksonville, Fla., say CIRCA aids stores who don’t have estate departments by helping clients dispose of unwanted jewelry. The company currently has 20 authorized retailers in the United States to take in jewelry on CIRCA’s behalf; it aims to boost that number to 75.
The company will supplement its offices in New York, Chicago, Palm Beach, San Francisco, Hong Kong, Washington, D.C., and Barcelona, Spain, with new locations in Dallas, Paris, and in the Middle East, among other locales.
In 2010, CIRCA Jewels participated in 11 in-store buying events; in 2011, it aims to up that number to 25.
