Mumbai, India—The India International Jewellery Show Premiere has been postponed due to the coronoavirus pandemic. The show is India’s largest jewelry trade show with approximately 40,000 visitors annually. Virus cases in India are on the rise, although at press time its rate of increase was lower than the United States’.

Originally slated for August 6-10 in Mumbai, IIJS Premiere now will be held in January 2021, and combined with its sister show IIJS Signature, a more upscale event. IIJS Signature typically is held in February; its 2020 edition with 18,000 visitors was held February 13-19, 2020.

The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council, which sponsors both shows, says they’ll be combined, although firm dates for the joint event have not been announced. The combination show will have elements of both, but will be significantly larger than Signature typically is.
