New York, NY--David Yurman Enterprises has filed a lawsuit against The TJX Companies, accusing the off-price department store company of selling jewelry that violates its copyright protections. The complaint was filed on Feb. 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

According to a report by The Fashion Law, Yurman alleges that TJX, the parent company of TJ Maxx and Marshalls, marketed and sold items that are “virtually indistinguishable” from its registered cable designs. The filing claims these products are “blatant copies” sold as part of a “dupe economy.”

The Fashion Law notes that Yurman’s complaint highlights in-store signage and social media posts where consumers identify the products as “look-a-likes” or believe they are genuine David Yurman pieces. The lawsuit argues this reinforces consumer confusion and rewards predator companies that imitate rather than innovate, the report noted.

The report adds that Yurman sent a letter to TJX in August 2025 demanding sales cease, but the products reportedly remained available. The luxury jeweler is seeking injunctive relief, damages, and the destruction of the accused products.

More details are in this report by The Fashion Law.
