The video notes that gemologists use the term “jardin” (French for “garden”) to describe the mossy, natural patterns that form within emeralds.

Emeralds were historically associated with Cleopatra, who, according to legend, mined them directly from Egypt’s earth. Today, most emeralds are sourced from Colombia or Zimbabwe. As per the reel, Colombian emeralds are recognized for their intense color, while Zimbabwean emeralds typically have fewer inclusions.

The video highlights that neither type is superior, as each has distinct visual qualities. It also suggests that emeralds make thoughtful gifts, particularly for those born in May.
