A news release stated that Zerouki joined De Beers in 2005 and has been a key figure in the company's work on ethics, provenance, and supply chain integrity. She led the creation of Tracr and GemFair, initiatives designed to improve traceability and responsible sourcing in the diamond sector.

The report noted that Zerouki also serves as President of the World Diamond Council, where she has worked on strengthening the Kimberley Process and improving transparency in mining-origin certification. She will remain in that role until May 2026.

De Beers CEO Al Cook said Zerouki had helped set strong standards for integrity and provenance across the company and the wider diamond trade.

In her statement, Zerouki said she was proud of the progress made during her time at De Beers and thanked colleagues for their support.
