New York, NY--Diamonds Do Good (DDG), the global natural diamonds in nonprofit, has named Marcus ter Haar as the incoming president-elect, effective January 1, 2026.

On the same date, Pete Engel, currently serving as president-elect, will assume the role of president as Kathy Corey concludes her term. Marcus will step into the President-Elect role as part of DDG’s leadership succession plan, ensuring continuity and a strong foundation for the organization’s future.

“Marcus brings a wealth of experience, perspective, and heart to Diamonds Do Good,” Corey said. “His deep ties to Botswana and his commitment to sustainability and community development align perfectly with our mission of sharing how natural diamonds create positive impact.”

DDG said ter Haar is a respected voice in the diamond industry, with leadership spanning both public and private sectors. He has championed initiatives that highlight the diamond sector’s contributions to national development, entrepreneurship, and youth empowerment, key themes at the center of DDG’s global work. He has also most recently served as co-chair of DDG’s Beneficiary Committee, where he helped guide the organization’s global grantmaking strategy and partnerships.

“Diamonds Do Good represents the authentic, purpose-driven stories of how natural diamonds uplift communities worldwide,” ter Haar said. “I look forward to working with the Board and our partners to amplify this message and strengthen our impact.”
