A report in Redlands News stated that the donation, officially handed over in a private ceremony on November 30, will be used to purchase a 30-degree optical lens, part of a Fluorescence Imaging Vision System. This device employs near-infrared technology to enhance surgical precision by enabling surgeons to discern tissue planes and structures better.
Kyle Cummings, CEO of Emerson Fine Jewelry, affirmed that the decision to donate was a personal and business commitment unrelated to the recent smash-and-grab robbery the store experienced, where approximately $750,000 worth of jewelry and showcases were stolen. Cummings emphasized that the store, a part of the community for over three decades, consistently channels a portion of its sales back into local causes.
"We have chosen Loma Linda University Children's Hospital because of the healing and support that they bring to our children in the community." Cummings stated in the report. "LLUCH is close to our hearts, as a family, and a business."
Cummings hopes this generosity during the holiday season will inspire others to extend similar kindness and support to community institutions. "Kindness is contagious," he remarked in the report.
