FOR SALE? ONE (VERY) SLIGHTLY USED ENGAGEMENT RING AND WEDDING BAND November 02, 2011 (0 comments)

Los Angeles, CA—Seems the tabs got it right for once when they reported things weren’t so rosy at Chez Kardashian-Humphries. After just 72 days of wedded, um, well, maybe “bliss” isn’t the word, reality TV starlet Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from NBA basketball player Kris Humphries on Monday.

Of course, after Kardashian’s crying to the camera that the hype of filming all the preparations for the lavish $10 million wedding made the couple to “start to lose sight of what this is supposed to be about” (no, really?), it’s not exactly surprising the marriage didn’t last. Still, even the most ardent celebrity gossip hounds have to be a little surprised at how quickly it unraveled.

But the big question—posed by Forbes.com—is who gets her 20.5-ct. Lorraine Schwarz-designed engagement ring and the $60,000 platinum and diamond wedding band that goes with it? Will Kardashian keep it? Will Humphries demand it back? The couple signed a pre-nup, so the house, the not-insubstantial bank accounts and all that other stuff is apparently not an issue—but it seems the jewels aren’t part of the pre-nup deal.

Forbes.com asks of its photo, "Who will get these rings?"

Or here’s an idea: maybe they can just walk the 5 blocks from the 100 block of Hill Street, where the court they petitioned for divorce is located, (petition copy above) to the jewelry district in the 600 block of Hill Street and see if they can unload the rocks?

On second thought, forget that idea. Nobody walks in LA.
