London, UK--Garrard, the London jewelry house founded in 1735, is celebrating its 290th anniversary, according to a Facebook update from the brand. Recognized as the world's oldest jewelry house, Garrard’s history spans royal commissions, iconic tiaras, and modern collections that continue to define its legacy.

Throughout its history, Garrard has produced landmark royal pieces. These include the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara from the 1890s, the Lover’s Knot Tiara of the 1910s, and the Fringe Tiara, which has adorned royal brides from Queen Elizabeth II to Princess Beatrice. The brand also created the Burmese Ruby Tiara in 1973, crafted with 96 rubies gifted by the people of Burma, and redesigned the Sovereign’s Sceptre in 1910 to house the 530-carat Cullinan I, the largest cut diamond in the world.

Garrard’s influence extends beyond traditional royal commissions to modern design signatures. As highlighted in the update, the Wings collection, first introduced in 2003, has evolved into a defining symbol for the brand. Its sweeping silhouette represents freedom, strength, and protection, and it remains a prominent feature in Garrard’s contemporary offerings.

Now celebrating nearly three centuries of craftsmanship, Garrard continues to draw inspiration from its extensive archives to create jewellery that reflects both historic significance and current style.
