GSI Appoints Alethea Inns As Chief Learning Officer August 19, 2020 (0 comments)
New York, NY--Gemological Science International (GSI) has appointed Alethea Inns, G.G., F.G.A., as its chief learning officer. The newly-created role is part of GSI’s commitment to ongoing education programs, courses, and tools for the trade and consumers.
Inns has a long industry pedigree in education and gemology. She spent almost 10 years at GIA (Gemological Institute of America) in diamond and colored gemstone research and grading, and most recently was the director of gemology and education programs at the American Gem Society.
"Alethea brings valuable expertise and extensive knowledge to her role, which will contribute to our long -term goals.We are thrilled to welcome Alethea to our team.” said Debbie Azar, president and co-founder of GSI.
Inns holds a master’s degree Nonprofit Management and Project Management from Northeastern University. She earned a bachelor of science degree with honors in geology from McMaster University. She is also a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. She has spent her career specializing in the theory and practice of diamond and colored gemstone grading and identification, expanding education, course offerings, and gemological knowledge to members of the industry, specializing in learning strategy, e-learning development, instructional design, professional credentialing, and influencing change through a culture of learning.
