New York, NY--Jewelers of America (JA) announced that it will present Gucci with the GEM Award for High Jewelry Excellence, a newly established category in its 2023 awards lineup.

As per a report, the award is part of a series of awards that honor the achievements of individuals or companies that enhance the prestige and visibility of fine jewelry and watches. The new award is specifically designed to recognize a company whose collection, or series of collections, fuels consumer demand for high-end jewelry.

Amanda Gizzi, the Director of Public Relations and Events at JA, expressed excitement about adding the GEM Award for High Jewelry Excellence. "The Gem Awards Committee is delighted to add this new category to our prestigious awards list," said Gizzi, per the report. "Gucci continues to inspire consumers with their bold and imaginative jewelry designs."

Gucci, established in Italy as a luxury fashion brand in 1921, debuted its first high-jewelry collection in Paris in 2019 and has been introducing new collections yearly.

Alongside the High Jewelry Excellence Award, JA will also present awards for Lifetime Achievement, Watch Excellence, Jewelry Design, Media Excellence, and Retail Excellence.

The awards ceremony will take place at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City on March 17.
