Merrick, NY--"People love webinars and online presentations, but they especially love more intimate groups where back-and-forth discussions can take place and all questions get more immediate response," said Howard Hauben, president and CEO of H2 Events, organizer of Centurion.

This was evidenced by the sign-up of more than 100 firms within a few days after launch earlier this month to join in the newly created Online Roundtables For The Jewelry Industry, also organized by H2 Events. We were thrilled that in addition to 27 service company experts who signed ahead of the launch, others including Bill Boyajian, Andrea Hill, and Kate Petersen are now also part of the effort.

The one-hour sessions will continue in June and monthly. There is plenty of time for Retailers and Vendors to still sign up. Each group is geared to include about an equal number of Retailers and Vendors, as well as one or two Service Company experts.

Report On May Sessions. In five one-hour sessions, Jewelers, Vendors and Service Companies shared their visions for a future moving through and after COVID-19 on an intimate basis, where everyone got to speak their mind and converse with fellow industry pros on a more intimate basis than possible during a Webinar.

Discussions included the many digital initiatives underway, new social media selling techniques that are working, empathetic marketing, creative marketing, and consumers' surprising thirst for buying both online and from stores as they open. In short, while society is going through a difficult spell, jewelry pros are most definitely walking together into the unknown and beginning to see a brighter, somewhat different future together.

In one case, one of the session participants reported that online pure-play jewelry companies are already back to pre-COVID-19 sales levels, but also that the vast majority of consumers appear to be waiting for the brick-and-mortar stores to open back up to continue their buying. This gave all attendees to that session pause, and some encouragement as well.
