New York, NY--Scott Kay, jewelry designer and founder of his eponymous jewelry manufacturing firm, has died of an apparent heart attack. He was 56. He was known for his early innovations in platinum jewelry design and, later, in alternative metals. No further information was available at press time; more will be reported as it becomes available. The firm was closed in Kay's memory on Friday.
