Israeli Diamonds To Have Key Presence At New Freiburg Show

Ramat Gan, Israel—The Israeli diamond industry will serve as one of the main pillars of Jewellery & Gem Fair Europe, a new trade show run by UBM and set for April 1-4 in Freiburg, Germany. The show is planned to overlap with BaselWorld, just over the border in Switzerland.

The Israel Diamond Pavilion, organized by the Israel Diamond Institute Group of Companies (IDI), will be located at a prime location at the entrance to the show in Hall 1 – 3 in Messe Freiburg. There will be 30 Israeli companies exhibiting in the pavilion and an additional five companies in other locations at the show.

The pavilion will feature the new “Find Your Diamond” system, which enables buyers to search the inventory of all the Israeli exhibitors in the show, to find the exact diamonds they are seeking. The proprietary system, developed by IDI especially for trade shows, has proved extremely beneficial to both buyers and exhibitors.

IDI Managing Director Eli Avidar praised UBM for initiating the new show, as it can offer Israeli diamond companies an alternative to BaselWorld, which Avidar believes over the years has become a less appropriate venue for diamantaires.
