Industry News: GIA Announces Speaker Lineup For Career Fair June 24, 2014 (0 comments)
New York, NY—GIA has announced the opening panel for its New York Jewelry Career Fair, July 28 at the Jacob Javits Center. The event is free for job seekers and open to the public; anyone interested in attending is urged to RSVP prior to the event.
This year’s career fair will begin with a panel of industry leaders discussing “Job Success in Today’s Market,” moderated by Susan Jacques, president and CEO of GIA. Panelists will be Mercedes Abramo, president and CEO of Cartier North America; Ashley Chan of Leslie Hindman Auctioneers; Andrea Hansen, partner of Luxe Intelligence and president of the Women’s Jewelry Association; Douglas K. Hucker, CEO of AGTA; and Steven Lagos, founder and chief creative director of LAGOS Jewelry. The panelists will tell the stories of their unique journeys to success and offer practical advice for aspiring gem and jewelry professionals.

“GIA’s New York Jewelry Career Fair is a singular opportunity to hear from some of the most distinguished and successful luminaries in our industry right in the heart of one of the world’s leading gem and jewelry centers,” said Kathryn Kimmel, GIA vice president and chief marketing officer, and co-founder of Career Fair.
Aspiring jewelry professionals, including retail, design and manufacturing, will be able to meet with dozens of job recruiters and spend one-on-one time with volunteer career-coaches at Career Fair, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 28.
