Basel Diamond Show To Feature Large And Fancy Color Diamonds
Basel, Switzerland: The Diamond Show is set to open its doors March 27, at Basel’s Markthalle in Viaduktstrasse, located approximately 300 meters from the Basel SBB train station. Complimentary shuttle buses between Markthalle and Messe Basel will run throughout the show days, March 27, 28, 30 and 31. It will be closed on Saturday, March 29, in observance of the Jewish Sabbath.
The show, organized by the Rapaport Group, will provide an opportunity for retailers, jewelers, designers, dealers and watch makers to source their diamonds and diamond jewelry from the best manufacturers around the world. A large contingent of U.S. diamond manufacturers exhibit top-quality diamonds in a pavilion organized by the Diamond Dealers Club of New York.
“New York specializes in the finest quality large diamonds and fancy color diamonds. The Diamond Show will provide international buyers with a great opportunity to access an extensive range of diamonds direct from the source,” said Mordy Rapaport, director of Rapaport Exhibitions.
An updated website offering information about the show and online registration is now available in German, French, Spanish and Chinese at www.thediamondshow.net. The show is open to members of the diamond and jewelry industry, investors, private collectors and the media.
Shawna Kulpa Promoted to Editor of MJSA Journal
Attleboro Falls, MA—Shawna Kulpa has been promoted to editor of MJSA Journal, the flagship monthly magazine of the Manufacturing Jewelers and Suppliers of America (MJSA). She succeeds Tina Snyder, who will leave at the end of February to launch a branded line of stackable Argentium silver bangles and bands called Stacked.
A 14-year veteran of MJSA who currently serves as the association's publications specialist, Kulpa has been a leader in the expansion and development of MJSA's overall publishing program. On MJSA Journal, she coordinated the magazine's editorial and oversaw the development of the annual events calendar. She also was a primary editor of books published by the association's MJSA Press division, and played a key role in the development of MJSA's website, particularly the MJSA Journal Online section.
"Under Tina's editorial leadership, MJSA Journal has become the industry's recognized leader for technical and business information about professional jewelry making and design, and Shawna is perfectly suited to continue that legacy," said Rich Youmans, the magazine's publisher. "Her long experience with all aspects of MJSA's publishing program will ensure the Journal not only maintains but expands its vital role in helping jewelry makers and designers remain competitive."
