Chicago, IL--James & Sons Fine Jewelers announced on its blog that it has added new gemstones to its offerings and detailed the process of cutting them.
The jeweler noted in the post that the method involves direct purchasing from East African mines, supporting local communities, and contributing to the Gem Legacy nonprofit.
The faceting process sees the gems polished to standards four times finer than the industry average. The Mohs hardness scale measures the gems' durability, determining their resistance to physical damage.
The new Roger Dery's gems can be explored online via James & Sons' website, which allows filtering by type, color, shape, and weight.
The collection is available at their stores in Chicago, Naperville, Orland Park, and Schererville.
