Kay Jewelers Targeted in Washington Square Mall Armed Robbery April 09, 2026 (0 comments)
Tigard, OR--Authorities are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on the evening of April 4 at the Kay Jewelers located within Washington Square Mall. Officers arrived at the scene shortly after 6 p.m. following reports of shattered display cases and fleeing suspects.

According to a report by KOIN, investigators believe two individuals orchestrated the robbery before escaping in a dark-colored sedan. One suspect was reportedly armed with a firearm, while the second used a sledgehammer to break the glass. A police pursuit of the vehicle eventually crossed the state line into Washington.
The report noted that no shots were fired during the incident, despite initial rumors of gunfire, and no injuries were reported. A nearby kiosk employee told reporters she heard loud impact noises and instructed a client to take cover on the ground until the suspects departed.
As stated in the report, Washington Square Mall remained operational following the police response, maintaining its scheduled 9 p.m. closing time.
