Lee Michaels Breaks Ground On 10,000 SF Freestanding Store August 18, 2021 (0 comments)
Metairie, LA—Lee Michaels, the Louisiana-based luxury jeweler with nine stores across four states, has announced plans to move its New Orleans-area location from inside the Lakeside Shopping Center to a freestanding location in front of the mall. The jeweler has been a tenant of the shopping center for 25 years. Image: Lee Michaels' current store in the Lakeside Shopping Center.
The new store, set to open in 2022, will be 10,000 square feet—more than double the current location inside the mall—and will feature two entrances, one leading to the jewelry section and the other to its selection of luxury watches. The jewelry section will feature shop-in-shop boutiques for David Yurman, Roberto Coin, and Mikimoto, plus an expanded bridal jewelry collection, and the watch section will feature a special Rolex corner and branded areas for both TAG Heuer and Tudor.
Lee and Brenda Berg first opened Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry in Baton Rouge in 1978. Today, the AGS jeweler has five stores in Louisiana, two in San Antonio, TX, and one each in Jackson, MS and Albuquerque, NM. Second-generation Ryan, Scott, and Chad Berg, the couple’s three sons, are now in leadership roles and Lee Michael Berg serves as chairman of the board.
