Let’s Talk Jewelry Store Design: 10+ 2021 Design Trends to Update ShowroomsJanuary 19, 2021 (0 comments)
|West Bloomfield, MI--THE TIME IS NOW! THE FUTURE IS TOMORROW…RETAIL DESIGN IS EVOLVING.
2021 trends are finally here for many of my clients. They ask me, “What are the interior design trends used to keep our showroom updated and refreshed?”
I want to share many trends that are happening for this year. My clients always ask what is the color of the year. This year the colors of the year are a Medium Grey and a Bright Yellow. As we know the grey color is very much a neutral and can blend with many color pallets.
Now, the bright yellow can be a challenge to incorporate into your space. My advice is to take a wall and paint it the yellow color and make sure you can change it next year when the next bright color comes out. If you cannot do that, I would recommend lots of bright yellow flowers on your jewelry cases, POS and drink bars.
Another way is to buy a few yellow occasional chairs, ottomans, pillows, or even pictures at a low price. (Wayfair is a great source for the price). If you add this to your interior and only use it for a short time you are following the trends, and it will not be a large investment. See pictures below: Pantone & Furniture.
I will list other 2021 interior design trends that are happening in retail today below. If you have any questions about the list, always feel free to call or email me anytime so I can explain further why it is a trend in 2021:
- Bold color combinations mixed with neutrals
- Cozy relaxing seating areas
- Full-length mirrors-a must!
- Textures-anything natural looking placed on walls, floors and jewelry cases
- Flooring that looks like natural wood, but is very subdued
- Flooring trends in carpet tiles are going with the geometrics revisited
- Wallpaper with trendy and textural patterns of all sizes
- Using metals such as brushed stainless or bronze, and now it is all about using gold, gold, gold
- Ecological & sustainable décor and jewelry showcases in real wood (See Welling & Co Jewelers, West Chester, OH)
- Shapes in furniture, carpet, walls, ceilings and overall design in 2021 are more organic. The reason for the inspiration is natural landscapes and aerospace.
- Lighting fixtures that are decorative may be “outside the box” approach for your showroom. The light fixtures should look like a piece of art instead of a typical chandelier. This may be hard to envision and outside your comfort zone. But trust me it will be a conversation starter if it is different and a “wow.”

This is not a trend but I think when you are considering the trends for your store you should keep in mind all the Millennials shopping and what they like to see. I think it is crucial that retailers not only produce and supply the products popular with the generation, but to also design stores with this influential client in mind.
