According to the report, the incident occurred on April 25 at Swarovski Jewelers, located at 1717 21st Avenue South in the Hillsboro West End neighborhood. The store manager observed the suspect, later identified as 40-year-old Joshua Calvo, slipping a pendant into his sleeve during a sales interaction. In response, store staff locked the doors to prevent his exit.
According to the report, Calvo then drew a firearm and pointed it at the manager’s head while threatening the employees. One staff member managed to approach him from behind, disarm him, and subdue him until police arrived.
Metro Nashville Police later confirmed the gun in Calvo’s possession had been reported stolen. They also recovered a $95 watch band, allegedly taken from the store.
Following his arrest, police searched Calvo’s vehicle and discovered 126 grams of crack cocaine and 126 grams of fentanyl, Fox 17 reported.
