MarBill Diamonds & Jewelry Will Move To New Location in the Spring October 31, 2023 (1 comment)
Belle Vernon, PA--MarBill Diamonds & Jewelry is moving “Back on Broad,” its owners said Monday. The jewelry store owned by the Horrell family is relocating from the Shoppes at Rostraver to a new store at 1049 Broad Ave. The space is being renovated in preparation for a spring 2024 opening.
The move is a return to their roots, as one of the Horrell family’s original storefronts was opened as a Catalog Showroom at 400 Broad Ave. Along with jewelry, the showroom featured giftware, electronics, appliances and other general merchandise.
To celebrate the move and reduce inventory, MarBill is offering a huge pre-Christmas sale of up to 70% off everything in the store.
The story of MarBill Diamonds & Jewelry began in 1964. In 1999 the catalog store closed and MarBill began operating strictly as a retail jewelry store. Second generation owner Bill Horrell grew up in the business, and was joined by wife Linda, a graduate gemologist, and son Michael, a graduate jeweler, who now operates the store. Both earned their degrees from the Gemological Institue of America. MarBill Diamonds & Jewelry is a mainstay of the community, known for its expert team, custom design, repair services and excellent customer service.
“Our business is not really about selling beautiful jewelry (and it is beautiful!), it’s about commemorating life’s events,” said Bill Horrell. “We’ve helped our friends and clients celebrate their relationships, special occasions and big moments. Over the years, we’ve helped a lot of people put gifts under their trees in special little boxes. What could be better than that?”
The Horrell family supports local organizations through volunteer efforts and donations. After the move, Michael Horrell will continue to operate the new store. Bill and Linda will still be involved in the business, but spending more time with their young grandchildren, who currently enjoy playing “jewelry store” and may one day inherit the family business.
“This new store is a celebration of our legacy as a family. We’ve worked so hard and done it together,” said Bill. “We’re still thriving and still thankful.”
