Rochester, NY--Cornell’s Jewelers has named Michael Cornell as the new CEO. Michael follows his father, David Cornell in the roll of CEO marking the third generation to lead this family business, founded by Harry Cornell. David Cornell and Olivia Cornell, president of Cornell's Jewelers will be handing the leadership role to Michael as he takes the helm of the company celebrating 100 years.

David Cornell, the outgoing CEO, expressed his confidence in Michael's ability to uphold the legacy: “It's a moment of immense pride for me to pass the torch to my son, Michael. He has grown up with a deep understanding of the values and traditions that have defined Cornell's Jewelers for a century. I have full faith that he will carry this legacy forward with the same dedication and commitment that has been the hallmark of our family business.”
Michael Cornell, speaking about his new role said, “My father, David, has been an exceptional leader, and I am grateful for the invaluable lessons he has imparted. Olivia’s keen eye for fashion trends and her unparalleled taste in interior design have created a stunning building filled with desirable items. I am committed to building upon the strong foundation that has been laid and to lead the company into a new era of memory making for our customers. We will continue to deliver exceptional jewelry and service that our customers have come to expect."
David and Olivia will remain with the business as consultants through the end of this year. In keeping with the family tradition, Michael’s wife Courtney Cornell, will be promoted to jewelry buyer for the store.
