Dallas, TX--The American Gem Trade Association has changed its deadline to October 9. The “early bird” deadline now falls on September 20. The organization gave no reason for the change.

According to the AGTA open submission form, payment and entries for early bird entries are $265 for the first entry and $205 for all subsequent entries.

For those making the final deadline of October 9, the first entry is $295, with all subsequent entries being $225 each.

Entries valued at $16,000 and up will require insurance fees of $2.50 per $1,000 of the replacement cost value (for example: $16,000 equals $40 insurance fee). Entries with a replacement cost over $250,000 are responsible for providing their own insurance coverage. AGTA is not responsible for any loss more than $250,000 replacement cost.

Each entrant is responsible for shipping to AGTA. AGTA will pay for return shipping via FedEx for all entries with a replacement cost under $70,000. Entrants entering pieces with a replacement cost over $70,000 will be responsible for return shipping fees. Entries will be returned after the conclusion of the competition.

AGTA notes that it is not responsible for any duties or fees associated with shipments from Canada. Fees charged by customers are the responsibility of the entrant. Canadian shipments must be accompanied by NAFTA form (CBP Form 434) or it will be refused.
