According to a report by Patch, Williams, Wilson, and unidentified co-conspirators drove a stolen vehicle with a stolen license plate from New Jersey to the Westchester Square shopping plaza in Hartsdale on December 16. At around 11:07 a.m. they exited the vehicle and entered the store using sledgehammers.
Court filings state the group smashed display cases and took jewelry, diamonds, and luxury watches before returning to their vehicle and driving back to New Jersey. Later that day, Williams traveled to New York City's Diamond District, while Wilson returned to their shared residence. Authorities allege the group later took photos holding large amounts of cash.
The arrests were announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Matthew Podolsky, who credited the FBI’s Westchester Safe Streets Task Force and Newark Field Office, the Nassau County Police Major Case Squad, the Town of Greenburgh Police Department, and the Newark Police Department for their roles in the investigation.
