Merrick, NY--Black Friday traffic may have been good in stores, but it was phenomenal online, according to reports published Tuesday and Wednesday.

Women’s Wear Daily reported November 30 that while many sales were spurred by promotions, desirable luxury goods were selling through briskly at full price. Stores like Saks Fifth Avenue were anticipating a potential record-breaker increase, and Blue Nile reported record traffic and sales.

Americans spent more than $1 billion online on Cyber Monday alone, says digital marketplace research firm Comscore in a report on CNNMoney.com. The $1.028 billion tally was not only a 16% increase over last year's figure, it was the biggest online shopping day in history. Meanwhile, Coremetrics, another analysis organization, reported a 19.4% jump in sales from last year.

Comscore also reported that shoppers racked up $13.55 billion in online sales from November 1 to November 29, a 13% increase over last year.
