Indianapolis, IN--After 139 years of serving the Indianapolis community, J. C. Sipe Jewelers is closing its doors for good. Owners Sam and Laura Sipe are retiring.

“We owe our lives and our livelihood to our clients,” Sam said. “We’re grateful that everyone has come to see us and spend their hard-earned dollars. It’s pretty special to have been in business for so many years and a part of so many lives.”

Sam Sipe’s grandfather, Jacob Corpany Sipe, founded the store with a philosophy of “trust and integrity.” He chose a “Griffin” as the store logo to emphasize his dedication to protecting his customers. As a third-generation jewelry store owner, Sam H Sipe continued the tradition of excellent customer service, and was honored to serve multiple generations of Indianapolis-area jewelry lovers. Sam and Laura focused on continuing education and certification through the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and the American Gem Society (AGS) in order to provide their customers with the best possible service.

Twenty-one years ago, Sam and Laura moved the store to their current location on 96th Street, which saw a high volume of traffic from all across the state. Sam and Laura believed in being present at the store, so one or both of them was there every day. As a result, they haven’t taken a vacation in 34 years.

Before closing for good, the couple is offering a liquidation sale with up to 70% off on all merchandise in the store.

Sam & Laura have done a tremendous a service to their community by being ethical jewelers and honest merchants.

Indy is fortunate to have had their store all these years.
