Bentonville, AR--The popular “Love, Earth” line of jewelry sold at Walmart was recently the target of a news article that was anything but loving. A January 6 article in the Miami New Times accuses both the retailer and Richline Group’s Aurafin, manufacturer of the jewelry line, of greenwashing. In a followup article in National Jeweler magazine, both Walmart and Richline deny the accuracy of the report.

Consumers of all ages--but especially Millennials--are increasingly focused on products that are created in a manner that is both environmentally and socially responsible. That demand is not lost on the media, either: most upscale consumer fashion and shelter magazines now devote a few pages per issue to showcase green and/or cause-related products.

Separately, Richline recently announced the acquisition of designer gold manufacturer Rosato SRL of Arezzo, Italy.
