According to a report by Financial Review, the Rolex Land-Dweller recently debuted, featuring a high-frequency movement and a specialized escapement designed to minimize energy loss.

Similarly, Grand Seiko introduced its "Ultra-Fine Accuracy" series, including models SLGB001 and SLGB003. These pieces utilize the Spring Drive Calibre 9RB2, which the manufacturer claims achieves a world record for mechanical accuracy with a fluctuation of less than 20 seconds annually.

The report noted that while digital devices and quartz watches typically offer superior reliability, the demand for mechanical precision is resurfacing.

Vincent Cuche, the Australian head of Grand Seiko, suggested that the strict punctuality required for digital professional environments, such as video conferencing, has made exact timekeeping more relevant.
