New York, NY--Rolex CEO Jean-Frederic Dufour appeared alongside President Donald Trump at the U.S. Open men's singles final on Sept. 7, weeks after Trump imposed a 39% tariff on Swiss watch imports.

According to a report by CNBC, Trump watched the match from the Rolex suite at Arthur Ashe Stadium with family members, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. The Associated Press reported that Trump was invited by Rolex, though neither the company nor the White House commented to CNBC.

The tariff on Switzerland is nearly double earlier expectations and higher than rates faced by European Union and United Kingdom partners.

Analyst Luca Solca of Bernstein wrote that Swiss watchmakers are likely to raise prices, though a surge in shipments before the tariffs took effect may cushion the impact for about six months.
