Troy, MI--The Jewelry Symposium (TJS), the jewelry industry’s annual international event dedicated specifically to the advancement of jewelry manufacturing technology, is now accepting scholarship applications from students and aspiring jewelers to attend the 2026 symposium.
The event is being held at the Detroit Marriot Troy May 16 - May 19, 2026.
“The attrition of skilled labor in the fine jewelry industry makes an event like TJS more relevant and more necessary than ever,” said Linus Drogs, TJS chairman. “We welcome new and returning participants for 2026 and move their careers to the next level.”
Deadline for scholarship applications submissions is January 5, 2026. Awardees will be notified in February. The scholarships grant free event registration and three complimentary nights at the event hotel. Applicants may include students, interns, apprentices, or those who are early in their career in any field of the jewelry industry. Scholarship winners will be responsible for their own transportation to/from Detroit.
Now in its fourth year, TJS has seen a steady growth in attendance year over year. Following a networking dinner the evening of May 16, industry specialists from all around the world will offer information through presentations across on technology (design software, additive manufacturing, generative AI), jewelry manufacturing processes (metallurgy, casting, mold-making), gemstones, sustainability, and safety, as well as recruitment and development of new talent within our industry.
Sponsorships are made possible by sponsors including GIA, Mano Acero Jewelry, Techform, and Eddie Bell, former head of the Santa Fe Symposium.
