SEPTEMBER CONSUMER CONFIDENCE HIGHEST IN MONTHS September 25, 2012 (0 comments)
New York, NY—Consumer confidence rose to its highest levels since last winter, according to the most recent report by The Conference Board. The Confidence Index rose to 70.3 on consumers’ rising optimism on the jobs front.
The Index has two components; the expectations portion and the present situation portion. Expectations rose from 71.1 to 83.7, while the present situation index rose from 46.5 in August to 50.2 in September. The number of respondents who also expect improvements in both business conditions and the number of jobs rose as well.
