The report identified Daiker Yair Rivero Urbano, 29, as the alleged gunman in attempted robberies that occurred in 2024 in Denver's Cherry Creek North neighborhood. According to the report, victims were confronted and ordered to hand over luxury watches, including Rolexes. In at least two cases, the victims refused and the suspect fled.

A CBS News Colorado investigation earlier in 2025 identified suspects connected to the attempted robberies. Police later traced the alleged getaway vehicle to Fernando Rodriguez Da Silva, a Venezuelan national who had been living in Greeley. As per the report, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security said Rodriguez Da Silva was removed from the U.S. in March 2025 and deported to El Salvador.

Rivero Urbano was not initially apprehended and had been sought by federal authorities, including U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, for several months, the report stated. CBS News reported that he was arrested in Detroit on Nov. 5, 2025. ICE had previously said Rivero Urbano was wanted on outstanding warrants in Colorado, Kansas and New Jersey.

According to the report, Bergen County prosecutors in New Jersey linked Rivero Urbano to an armed robbery at a jewelry store in Maywood in April 2024. Prosecutors said he was extradited to New Jersey following his arrest and is now facing armed robbery charges.

The report noted that it remains unclear whether Rivero Urbano will be extradited to Denver to face charges related to the Colorado cases or deported.
